Earthen

I lie down in your eyes
the way I lie on the cool Earth,
nature as I am intended
connected with some great Spirit,
rising up to meet me,
flush against my body
carrying my weight like Atlas
and I do become them,
sod and grass
gently tickling my carbon shell
encompassing my entirety,
a cocoon of soft soil and evergreen needles
such a scent, subtle
wafting beneath,
above,
surrounding me,
melding into some strange shadowy alcove
I have yet to explore.
here, in your forest
I may find fairies
or feinds
but in such a moment,
when your terrestrial eyes dance over me
like a witch performing her ritual,
I do not care.
